What was your most memorable vacation, and why?
This summer I have been to China. It was the best vacation I had so far. It was a month of walking, climbing, more walking and pleasure. it began on the first of July, when I departed at 12 o'clock. I didn't sleep that night because I thought that I could sleep better that way in the airplane. Wrong. The food was doable, but I didn't like the the pancakes with white beans in tomato-sauce... I couldn't sleep, I'm not used to sleep when I sit, so I got in Shanghai at about 8 am, nice... Me and Robin, my friend with whom I would spend the month, went to the Bund, a very Western place (the first Portugese troops in China build it, so...). Chinese tourists love it, we don't. It was next to the river and we had a great view of Pearl Tower. It wasn't very warm, only like 38 degrees Celsius. We wanted to go to Jin Mao Tower, it was once the highest building in the world with his 88 floors. We pretended to be guests of the hotel (sometimes it's an advantage to be white), but still we couldn't see the view from highest floor, because we didn't know the way, so the woman knew it. We had a magnificent view from the 78th floor of the center of the building (there was a couple that stepped out on that floor) and on the 54st floor we made pictures from the view outside. There were toilets there and windows... We didn't do much after that (I had a jet-lag and had a headache) so I went to bed early. That was my first day in Shanghai. I don't have much time now, so I will say more about my vacation on another time, day, name it.
